On America

When I grew up in Britain, America seemed like an impossibly magical far-away place that you could only see on TV.

I suppose kids nowadays with cheap holidays in Florida don't feel the same, but to me, something as simple as a Dairy Queen is exotic and fascinating.
(While I'm sure that a British McDonalds Creme Egg McFlurry could - just! - hold it's own against an American Dairy Queen Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard, there's a glamour there still.
On my last trip to the US, my American colleagues were astounded at my reaction to a normal American School Bus.

Now see, I went to England about 6 years ago and fell in love with cornish ice cream and "real" Cadbury's (because lets face it we only get the cheap crap over here!) I am, at this very moment, sitting in my CADBURY WORLD FLEECE (I wish I were kidding.. it's the snuggliest thing ever) and dreaming of Buttons and Thornton's Clotted Cream Fudge. Aww I <3 England!! ::swoon!::

Ciao!
